After helping my dad to plan my mum’s 50th birthday, we found it really hard finding all the elements we needed to make it the best day ever. We either didn’t know what we needed or when we managed to find what we wanted, we found that half the stuff we were interested in hiring out were either; not available or not in our price range. It was during this time that the idea for DIY Events began to form… and then the the big lockdown in August 2021 hit.

Between a lockdown, starting a new job and the crazy Christmas/ Summer season meant the idea got put to the back of my mind and I almost forgot about it completely! At the start of 2022 the idea was reignited and I decided to bite the bullet and actually put my ideas to action and now here we are!

DIY Events is a place for anyone wanting to plan a party or event and just don’t know where to start. Whether you are a parent planning your childs 5th birthday party, wanting to throw the best 21st your friends have been to or that hen’s/ stag do that will be talked about for years to come… or at least what you can remember, this website is for you. It’s a place for inspiration to spark and memories to be created and support local in the process. The opportunities on what your day could be is endless.

I have also created this platform for all types of businesses, big and small to showcase their expertise and be seen. With a variety on offer from venues, decorations, balloon arches, cake makers with a reputation on their side to Suzy your next-door neighbour who has built a budding side hustle from her kitchen at home. There is a place for everyone here at DIY Events.
